Cyanocitta stelleri PART ONE Preview!
Hi, this week we're taking a look at part one of a preview of upcoming work, an episode exploring Georg Steller's discovery of Cyanocitta stelleri -- or Steller's jay. The Second Kamchatka Expedition arrived in North America on the Alaskan coast in the summer of 1741 and Steller went ashore on Kayak Island (after a heated argument with Captain Commander Vitus Bering about Steller's academic duties) to collect specimens and explore for several hours. This Steller's jay preview was created exclusively for the Audubon Society presentation I recently delivered in Portland and is presented exclusively here for my Patreon followers. Thanks as always for your support! You all rule!
