December Newsletter
Hi, everyone! It's that time again! Monthly news and accountability!
Life And Other Such Important Matters
Well, November was… a month. In which I dropped most everything to engage with NaNoWriMo, apparently, and still didn’t get all the things I wanted to do for it done. Boohiss.
As I mentioned to some of you before, that’s because the pandemic really messed with my scheduling in combination with some of the stories I was behind on… being much longer than anticipated. Oof.
In regular life things, November has continued the trend of being expensive, though at least this time for a wholly positive purpose and not because I’m carting my elderly cat off to the vet for blood tests. We found the medication and dosage that works for her! YAY! (And I expect somewhere in December I get to take her to the vet again because I fail at ear massage cleaning. Fingers crossed I don’t need to do that! But anxiety. I has it.)
And… honestly, that’s it. Everything else this month is not in my brain. I got hit with a dip of stronger depression for a week or so too. That wasn’t fun.
December, on the other hand, is going to be a lighter month for me in terms of productivity. I'll be going on winter holiday from the 20th of December to the 9th of January. Which mostly means that for those three weeks, there will be no Let's Read Academics. I will, however, be posting the yearly round-ups and discussions etc and the Tomb Raider videos will continue. December's story will be a little earlier on the 21st and... I'm not sure what I'll do with the Star Trek: Discovery rambles. I expect those to go up as usual as well, but we'll see. I won't be gone by any means, but I'll just be trying to take a little time off the academia reading to sort through what I've got left and where to go from here.
Completed Projects
NaNoWriMo! Rebelling that is. I rebelled.
December Goals
- 12 books
- That dratted essay at least 50% done
- That darned chapter reworking

- Moar Rise of the Tomb Raider LPs
November Goals
NaNoWriMo! I’m fairly sure that’s all I set out to do this month…
Writing Updates
This Month's Wordcount: 51,834
Most of which was fiction. I think about… 15K was nonfiction? But most of it was fiction. Most of it belonged to the novelette The Stalking of Sally Foth. [flop]
Stand-out Positive Moment
I! Made! NaNoWriMo! Again! I rebelled, sure, but that is 50K of wordage most of which was fiction. I’m calling it a win!
How about you? What have you been up to lately? Has anything awesome happened?
