Divinatory Drawing - September 4th, 2016
Since I am currently on the West Coast and away from my scanner, this one is coming via my camera and is still a little rough - I had to adjust a bit in Photoshop for the lighting.  But at the moment I'm just glad to be back to drawing at all in this post-convention season and with so much chaos going on in the rest of my life.

Since the featured aspect of Moon in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries is the opposite of my own natal Uranus in Libra opposite Moon in Aries, I wanted to play with the seeing and awareness that the opposition aspect brings, and also with the relationship between electricity and fire that figures prominently in my own make-up and was being emphasized by the reversal today.  With the Sun and Mercury in Virgo, there is also a reinforcement of the earthy grounding of my Sun in Capricorn conjunct Mercury in Capricorn, but for me that is manifesting more as a core of calm in the midst of so much agitation, and right now that feels like something keeping things steady behind the scenes rather than the focus of attention for this image.

My natal Moon in Aries seeks new adventures while my Uranus in Libra at my Ascendant tends to stir things up in social circles, constantly changing the image that I present to the world.  Since these two signs are each in the house that the other rules, there is an increased emphasis on the Libran theme of balance, in particular the need to balance individuality with social harmony, and that Aries Moon being always conscious of Libran Uranus inspires a constant need for movement (hence, my strong affinity for dance).  Today, those themes got an additional dose of balancing with that flipped opposition, but contrary to what one might expect with all of that live wire energy, it was actually a really pleasant day.  I think that part of that is due to the fact that I find a certain peace in movement, a meditative quality.  The image of Sufi mystics whirling in a state of divine connection is the best analogy I can find for this feeling.

In the case of this drawing, I wanted to include some of the other qualities and feelings that this natal aspect and transit combination highlight for me as a result of what other aspects of my chart they trigger, including my Aquarian Juno that is aspected by both the Moon and Uranus, and my personal interest in combining technology with organic growth.  The mirrored networks on the two hearts reflect this - one like a tracery of vines and leaves, and the other like a neural net (whether organic or synthetic) or a series of electronic relays.
