Draconis Lupine
If I remember correctly I believe my first drawing for this painting was done in the later part of 2008 to early 2009. I'd actually made a first attempt at painting it when my computer had contracted a horrible virus that ate the first version.  In a way it's a good thing it did, even though I didn't start up the painting again for some time, I enjoy this version a lot more.  Initially I really wanted to push some limits with this piece with composition, texture, color and light and give it an almost photographic feel, like one would be walking along the forest and snap a fleeting picture of these little guys sneaking out to sun themselves.  There's still a few elements I'm not too happy with but I'm likely being a little picky. Perfectionism is a blessed curse.
