Draft Chapter 3: Making a Viking (Character Creation)
Here she is: the character creation chapter.  There's not quite everything you need to make a character in Sword, Axe, Spear, & Shield, but certainly enough to get an idea of how a character is put together.  I'm also including the latest mock up of the game's character sheet.

Through each step of this character creation process there are examples of three imaginary players creating three characters.  These are Sword, Axe, Spear, & Shield's stock or iconic characters: Ragnhild, Little Degn, and Ejvind.  Each represents a character from a different part of the Nordlands, and a unique combination of character paths, the character aspect most similar to class in The World's Most Popular Role-Playing Game.

In other news, the game should be ready for the next round of local playtesting soon.  All that's really left to do is to whip up some NPCs and assemble the current draft into a printable format.  Once this next round of playtesting is completed and the next round of revisions begins, PDFs of the full playtest kit will go out to everyone backing at the Viking level or higher.

Let me know if you have any questions about character creation, the character sheet, or Sword, Axe, Spear, & Shield in general!

Edit November 25, 2016: I noticed that the character sheet was lacking a place to keep track of earned and spent renown, Sword, Axe, Spear, & Shield's character advancement resource.  An updated version of the character sheet has been added with this correction.  ~Michael
