利根川 The Tonegawa (useful root river, but actual meaning isn't known) I've often heard that the 利根川 Tonegawa Tone River is the longest river in Japan. Actually, it's not. The 信濃川 Shinanogawa Shinano River[i] is the longest, but the Tonegawa has the largest watershed.
