Before we breakdown the FA Cup, don’t forget that there are THREE official European plays on the European Show, so be sure to check that out as those plays, as they won’t be re-posted on the feed. Also, don’t forget to check out our pinned tweet and the December P&L, as we went 100% with our Champions League Futures picks.
Moving onto the Cup, we will take a stab at a few games here - with some very for relatively modest stakes - as I have no idea what team sheets we will see for most of these matches. However, I am going to hypothesis the personnel - factoring in the situations of the teams - and try to deliver some winning value picks.
Liverpool vs Everton
Pick- Everton Draw no Bet over Liverpool @ 6/4
Ze German smiling hugger has hinted at wholesale changes, however, I don’t know if that means 4 or 5 or the 11 we saw against Villa in the League Cup. You can definitely expect the likes of Salah, Mane and Van Dijk to sit out, with the likes of Origi and Lallana getting a game. Therefore, I fully believe that a full strength Ancelotti managed Everton team, avoid a defeat - at the very least - and end up qualifying. Liverpool want no part of the FA Cup, at Klopp’s team will confirm that.
Arsenal vs Leeds
Pick- Arsenal over Leeds @ 13/20 (Podcast Lock)
Arsenal need this far more than Leeds, both for morale and momentum. After picking up a win against United, Mikel Arteta won’t want to risk a set back here and should put out a strong team, while Leeds are likely to sit out plenty. Leeds ran out of legs chasing promotion last year and they certainly won’t want any extra games heading towards the final run-in.
Manchester City vs Port Vale
Picks- 1U Manchester City -3 AH over Port Vale @ 3/5 and 0.5U Manchester City to Win to Nil @ 7/5
Can’t see any situation where Port Vale stay within two- this would be a monumental achievement - given that Manchester City are the second best side in England and Port Vale are mid-table in League 2. Even with mass changes, City will have enough to make this convincing. I also don’t see Port Vale getting to near the City goal here.
Leicester vs Wigan
Pick- 0.5U Leicester City to Win to Nil over Wigan @ 13/10
Leicester have won seven of their 10 competitive home matches this season and have kept more Premier League clean sheets than any other team in the division this term, while Wigan are the Championship’s joint lowest scorers this season- failing to register in 50% of their away league matches this season. Leicester won at West Han recently with a number of changes, so I don’t foresee any issues here.
• Newcastle to Win to Nil @ 2/1
• Manchester United over Wolves @ 12/5
• Sheffield United -2.5 AH over AFC Fylde @ 8/5
