Famous Foes: Creeks, 1813
The Creek War of 1813-1814 began as a civil war between the nativist/populist Upper Creeks and the Lower Creek progressives over how to deal with the increasing levels of immigration by white settlers into their territory.  It quickly became a theater in the War of 1812, and gave Andrew Jackson the pretense to begin his campaign of removing natives from their lands, defeating the Red Sticks but also seizing the land of allied Lower Creeks, the first of many similar endeavors.
