Rachel takes us back into the classroom with Dr. Yuval Laor, an Israeli-American behavioral and cultural scientist who works with the Open Minds Foundation. They discuss Dr. Laor's studies of "fervor and awe", the psychological phenomenon of indoctrination used by cults like the Church of Scientology to manipulate their followers into a state of "noetic conclusion". The sensation and infatuation is similar to falling in love, or the trust that exists between parent and child.
