First Patreon Post... What Do I Say?!?!

Oh wow. First post here on Patreon... so much pressure! If you've come to this page due to my art Instagram account or DeviantArt, that's fantastic! Thank you so much for clicking the link!

It has long been my dream to be a comic book artist/cartoonist/animator (or it became my dream when I gave up my first dream of being a paleontologist when I was in first grade). I have always loved cartoons, comics, and animation and even though I'm 30 now, my TV is always on cartoon network... I'm a responsible adult, I swear! I went to community college for animation about 10 years ago, and I almost let my cartooning dream be crushed when all my art professors insisted that comics and cartoons were in fact not art and merely doodles. After getting continuously mediocre grades in art, sculpture, and painting, I dropped out and stopped drawing altogether.

It's taken me a long time to regain confidence in my style of artwork, and while I'm still not back to the skill level I was before I went to college, I'm actually (finally!!) enjoying doing art again. I would love to continue to become a better artist and while I'm working as hard as I can, I'm currently using a ten year old lap top computer and Adobe Photoshop 7.0... which came out 2002 and is becoming very glitchy. Though I'm saving up for a new computer, art program, printer/scanner, etc., I'm making do with what I have.

As I continue working on my style and how I want things to look, I've been working on a lot of fanart, which is something I never tried before and I really love it! I'm also working on a webcomic, which is where the cartoon version of myself I'll be posting about comes from. I'm really excited about the concept of this webcomic and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it. I look forward to posting a lot of Patreon Subscriber exclusive sketches and ideas both for the webcomic and fanart ^_^
