The old religions always spoke of the end times. Of judgement day. The time when their gods would descend upon the land bringing ruin and death to all life.

Little did they know, there were no gods. No silent masters sitting eternally staring judgementally through the aether of the cosmos upon their little lives, and little deeds. No unilateral will to force them to be good, decent and caring, in spite of their true nature.

And little did they know the end, so long prophesied, would be of their own making……
