For the week of 9/19/2017 on Can't Stop the Movies
Howdy all, I'm shifting the "Coming this week" posts to Patreon.  I encourage anyone to suggest something to watch, play, or comment on.   Don't feel limited to movies or video games, I'm happy weighing in on albums or world events - especially after we witnessed the pitiful consequences of modern satire with Spicer's appearance at the Emmy Awards.

This week, I'm watching a movie I've been waiting a long time for - Buster's Mal Heart.  If you're unfamiliar, don't be, it slung in under the radar for many and director Sarah Adina Smith's previous film The Midnight Swim.  It was tied for one of my favorites of 2015, and Buster's Mal Heart stars Rami Malek, who has been the personification of modern anxiety in Mr. Robot.

I'll be moving on to Colossal next, which my Changing Reels partner Courtney enjoyed and I dug director Nacho Vigalondo's 2007 sci-fi flick Timecrimes.  Then a film I know little about, other than it's from A24 the growing powerhouse studio for creatives looking to flex their muscle, The Blackcoat's Daughter.  Finally, I'll be rounding out with a bit of franchise territory as The Fate of the Furious rolls on with F. Gary Gray at the helm.

For Pixels In Praxis I'll be writing about Sonic Mania, a self-conscious attempt by SEGA and some devoted fans to return Sonic to his roots.  I don't think it's successful, but it did spark some thoughts about what makes good platforming and why Sonic continues to stick in the mind with such a dismal track record.

Remember, no one can stop the movies.
