Former NFL Cheerleader and Tennessee State Grad Eyes Career in Disrupting Pro Sports Management

Ashley Danielle Allen will be among more than 250 baccalaureate, masters and doctoral graduates of Tennessee State University this weekend.

Allen, a mother of three who works as a director of player relations for a Knoxville-based sports agency, will earn her second degree from the state's flagship HBCU, and has her eyes set on a career that will take her from the sidelines of NFL fields as a cheerleader, to the boardrooms of team owners as a contract negotiator.

From the TSU Newsroom:

“I am really excited about receiving my graduate degree from such a great institution,” says Allen, who earned her bachelor’s degree in business at TSU in 2008. “For a longtime, I knew I wanted to go back to school. I looked at the surrounding area for competitive programs. But TSU was kind of home for me, and I received good advice, and I am glad I listened and came here.”
