With the recent announcement of the Darron L. Wright Awards, the list of this year's high-value targets for military writers seems complete. This is a good time to take a deep breath and a tactical pause, and to do our "pre-combat checks and inspections"—writing, editing, polishing, and submitting our very best short fiction, non-fiction, hybrid, and other content.
