This is a Glass Calculator spreadsheet that was commissioned by Kenny Pieper ( pieperglass.com ) which was based off of a spreadsheet that was commissioned by Chuck Savioe. Kenny and I agreed that this should be made available to the public to encourage and support people who want to formulate their own glasses.
The sheet is coded in Numbers (Apple's spreadsheet program for mac) and exported to excel for more general consumption. Keep in mind that the calculated properties in the spreadsheet are estimates based upon a wide breadth of research on the topic, but it is still an estimate. Actual physical properties are often very difficult to predict precisely.
To use the sheet, plug numbers into the green colored cells. All the rest of the information is automatically calculated.
If you have questions, comments, or corrections, please leave me a message or email me at [email protected]
I'll be posting updates here when I make them (please note the version number of the spreadsheet that you download).
