I'd like to let everyone know - Patrons and visitors alike - that there is no need to spend money on me every month in order to follow this page and support me in my writing work. There are actually ways you can manage your attention and generosity according to necessity or values - or whether you're just pissed at me one day.
First of all - I am not monitoring patronage every month to make sure you pony up at your level all the time. You are free to suspend your contribution at any time. Just cancel it. You can always come back later if you want to.
So if you promised an amount and realize that's actually not sustainable, by all means, adjust downward. or cancel. i won't be hurt. promise.
If you decide "That's it, I need to see all those posts at the higher level!" and up your pledge for one month - then you get to see all those higher level posts and have access to whatever files I've made available. And then you can cancel that pledge and return to a lower level.
The only exceptions to this are:
1) The Chai Life level. If you want to come to the Leather Seder, you need to have been a patron at that level for at least 2 months. That's so you can reserve your spot as I put together my invite list. AND
2) The Maven level. To be eligible for any bespoke book as a reward requires at least THREE consecutive months of Maven patronage overlapping the time when I open up pre-orders. So, if I did another Kickstarter, for example, and it started October 1, you would have to be a Maven backer for at least three months between August 1 and December 31. or, you could just back the Kickstarter at the appropriate level. I may also offered a limited patronage level just for whatever the thing is. I'm still working this stuff out.
If you really only want to make a one-time gift, you can do that too. Just join, pledge the amount of that gift, then, after your pledge is charged, cancel.
Or a Starbucks gift card.
Or you can bring me coffee in person when we're in the same place. Or buy me a cocktail. Take me to lunch with your crew.
Send me fan mail.
Recommend my work to friends by sending them to any of those websites.
Don't think the only thing you can do is subscribe to my support here. I appreciate it more than you can know. But I'm real open minded about the many ways people can be kind to me. *wink*
