Since mid-November I've been getting a lot of corporate video work. That's good news for my bank account, but it also means paying less attention to Out With Dad than I like to. Add to that, t'is the season for being really busy! I haven't seen any of the OWD gang since early November, I never do during the holiday rush.
Fortunately, before all the corporate work picked up I got far ahead on OWD work. Many of you have seen the rough cut of episode 502, and I've tinkered with it since the cut you've seen. I have a draft of 503, but I'm not ready to share it yet. I've even started to work on 504, just reviewing shots, syncing audio, selecting shots, organizing the flow of scenes. I think it might turn out to be rather short, so, I'm more tempted now than ever to combine with 503 (which currently runs about 10min before credits). My main hesitation for combining 503 and 504 is that it would make Season 5.1 seem kinda short. It's six months worth of episodes, but might only have an episode count of four! They'd be four long ones - trust me!
My goal was to get a rough cut of all episodes done before the end of the year - mainly because I wanted to have a clear picture in terms of how / when / where I'll be needing Adrian's efforts for new music. There is also a song I want to use by Lara Martin - but I'm not sure exactly where it will fit in. That's why it is important to me to have even a really rough assembly of all the Season 5.1 episodes laid out in front of me will help answer these questions - which I really want to have answered before I publish 502.
Now that December is nearly over... for that matter, now that 2016 is almost over, clearly I won't have rough cuts of all season 5.1 done when I'd hoped. Oh well! Hopefully after the Christmas holidays I'll have some time to myself to get cracking.
I haven't forgotten I still have to review English subtitles on previous episodes. But, the priority has to be getting the next episode completed, and in order to do that, I need to get assembly cuts of all 5.1 done first.
EDIT: Hey! You know what, I just realized we're more than half way to our funding milestone! Woohoo!!! Thank you guys!!!
