Homemade Wax Molds

Every wondered if it's possible to make wood molds for beeswax? Well, it is surely possible but there is a trick to getting the mold to release the wax. Do you know what it is? It's not cooking oil as that only makes the wax a greasy mess. The correct answer is water. You must soak your wax mold in water prior to pouring wax in it. The reason water works is it fills the pores of the wood making them full and not able to hold wax but if these pores should dry out while wax is in the mold your wax may stick so make sure you soak it often.
