If you’ve taken a look at my Patreon page you may have noticed it looks a bit different to any others you may have seen or currently support. That’s because it is.
So that’s what this post is all about; to explain how this whole thing works.
First, lets start out with payment.
Your patron tier amount is only collected by Patreon on the first of the month AFTER I release a comic. Let’s break that down into what I mean.
All month long, I’ll post WIP images, videos, and snippets of the comic I’m working on. Once I finish the art on a page, I’ll post it too. Sketches? Posted. Inks? Posted. Once I FINISH a comic, letters and all, I’ll post it as a “finished creation” and Patreon will collect funds on the first of the next month.
- No money is taken when you sign up.
- No money is taken when I make a WIP post.
- No money is taken “monthly.” **
- No money is taken for any reason other than it is the first of the month AFTER I made a finished comic for you to read.
**The only reason you’d pay monthly is if I complete one comic EVERY MONTH.
So if you sign up now, you can view all of my posts I’ve ever made (even posts from the “failed” attempt at a Patreon before) and you won’t be charged a cent.
So how will I know when you posted a comic?
If you keep tabs on your email, you’ll be notified when I post on Patreon. Also, if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter and you see my stories/posts, you will absolutely know. What this means is that if I post a comic on June 28th, as far as I know you can potentially read the comic and back out your subscription before being charged on July 1st.
Wait, you’re okay with people abusing the system?
Honestly, I make comics because I love to make comics. If you want to sign up, read my comics for free, and then leave before any payment comes out for the next one, please be my guest. I already give my comics away for free, and this space is just a way that I can hopefully ensure seeing some return on them, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it. People reading a comic I’ve made is one of the greatest honors I could ever ask for. And besides, if my comics aren’t for you, I wouldn’t want you to be locked in anyway.
If you aren’t sure about something, hit me with your questions below in the comments. I will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge. This Patreon is as much of a learning experience for me as it will be for you. I understand how the concept of this page *should* work, but that doesn’t mean it will be 100%. If anything goes wrong, don’t hesitate to ever reach out to me.
