How rewards work.
Since this Patreon has started, there have been a few things that I have learned about how the system works. There are some confusing parts of it so I will use this post to explain those things to the best of my ability and if you have any questions, please post them and I will try to answer. The amount that the Patreon is showing at current ($2691.50) isn't for February rewards, it is for March's. This amount isn't a guarantee. Each month, there are declined payments that vary in amounts. This is why the rewards earned aren't completed until the following month, once payments have been processed. The confusing part about how the system works is how rewards are granted for the tiers. From what I have been told, if you pledge anything under $100, you can see all reward posts immediately on the activity feed. Example, if you pledge $5 you can instantly see all the ferret postcards immediately. This is how the system works and there is no way to change that. Where we run into trouble with this system is the Google Hangout each month. Google Hangout Information: If you pledged $100 right now (02/20/15), the $100 is taken out of your banking account and put into an escrow account with Patreon. This is to prevent people from pledging top dollar amounts when there are no funds available. From what I understand, you can still cancel your pledge and get a refund at this point. On (03/01/15) when the funds are sent to the creator, that's when you officially contribute to the Patreon. At this point, you have paid 1 month of contributions and you earn your 1 month of rewards. In March, you can sign up for the Google hangout. If at that point you canceled your contribution, you are still eligible for the Google hangout for March. You received 1 reward for 1 month contributed. If you continue your contribution of $100 or more, there is no longer an escrow period and you are charged at the first of the month and can continue participating in the Google hangout. I hope that this clears a few things up for people going forward. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and as I said, if you have any questions please post them below. -Cheers
