How the Stag got his Antlers
When all the animals were made, they lined up one by one to receive a brain and a heart. The red fox was very wily and snuck into the line twice, to steal more than his share of brains. So when the time came for the deer, there were none to give to him.

So the creator scooped up a handful of forest earth and poured it into the head of the stag instead. In the handful that went into the male deer, there was an acorn mixed in with the dirt.

So now great branches grow from the head of the stag, from the acorn in his skull.
