After an interesting night of chatting to travelers in a camper until late. We got up and cooked some frankfurters for breakfast in the not so creepy camping facilities. Much less like a horror movie when the sun is out! We were informed that if we wanted to really scare ourselves last night we could have examined an abandoned and dilapidated farm house. Thank god we didn't!
We had one last look at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall before we set out to find Eyjafjallajökull Volcano. While driving we passed vast lava fields and entered into a dust storm which I imagined would be what it was like driving on the moon. Eyjafjallajökull was indeed beautiful but not as scary as it was in 2010!
We drive towards Hvannadalshnúkur (the highest peak in Iceland) to check into our hike tomorrow. Unfortunately we were told weather warnings meant no hike tomorrow. :(
After that blow we were cold and felt gross so we decided to pull into rather beautiful accommodation. We got a yellow house to our self! We blasted the heating made use of the showers and relaxed for the evening as the pink dusk rolled in.
Thanks a bunch for watching,
Love Claire ♥
