First of all, THANK you to the people who have stuck around through my hiatus. When I logged back in I was shocked to see that anybody had stuck around that long!!
So where have I been?? I dropped out of grad school nearly a year ago after getting really fed up with the academic life style. During my last years of undergrad, I really pushed myself, taking many extra math/physics courses on top of my chem requirements, working in the lab, doing martial arts, and of course making videos. It was awesome but it was taking its toll, and I was not getting much sleep. Then I got to grad school, and my demands only became worse, and I started to hate the things I used to enjoy. I didn't want to "publish or perish", I wanted to build shit. I didn't want to feel that way for the next ~6 years, so I left. I still want to do a PhD eventually, but not now.
In the past year I've been doing my own thing, coasting by on part time construction wages and youtube earnings. I've rented out a shop that you can see in my most recent 3 videos, and I've been playing around with some ideas that I hope to turn to patents soon. I've also been training a TON of martial arts (my second passion to science) and am at the gym nearly daily doing brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, and muay thai. In fact one of the top things on my bucket list is to step into the cage and do an MMA fight to test my skills as a martial artist.
Now, I'm back to producing videos, and they won't be stopping for a while!! Thank you again and stay tuned!!
