As well as a really important update, I have a fun fact that I want to share with you all:
When I first started doing Demon Road, I didn’t tell anyone that I was doing it. I just started posting it, and for the first 100 or so pages, told none of my regular art peoples that I was doing it, save for an occasional, non-comic art post here and there. To this date, I have only ever really advertised for the comic through my own, non-comic channels once, for the release of my book. When I started, I was curious to see if it could generate interest on it’s own merits and I knew that any active cross-promotion that I could do for it over on my main art accounts would very quickly make that impossible to know. I was super stoked to learn that yes, it did! All this time later, Demon Road has become less of a hobby and more of something that I have integrated into my identity as an artist. I’ve learned a lot through doing this comic, especially about functional art and time management. Much of my current style comes from how I draw for The Demon Road and I am not at all displeased with how it’s changed me.
Aside from a bit of personal trivia, I promise I’m going somewhere with this.
Some of you are familiar faces all over, and already know, but a few months back, I started another Patreon account with my roommate and art partner, Hunter (who also does art with me for demon road) for our non-demon road related art things. Initially, I had wanted to keep the seperated so that the distinction between the time being afforded to Demon Road and the time being afforded to other things would be clear. After a year and a half of doing this with you guys, I have decided that I want to keep producing this comic, but I also want to start sharing it with my regular audience and anyone else who might like to read it.
So, Starting this Feb, I will be posting updates to The Demon Road to my personal patreon. During this month, I will also be updating here to smooth the transition, but starting March, I will not be posting any more updates to this patreon account.
I really hope that you will continue to support The Demon Road there as well. For those who are concerned about mixing with other projects, I have made a record of everyone who is currently supporting me here and will work under the assumption that those of you who have moved over to my other Patreon are doing so for Demon Road and make sure my DR budget never falls below your current support, as I have been here. It is my hope that with being able to share more of what I’m doing, I will be able to draw more interest to my comic and thus be able to produce more content again for it! As an added bonus, supporting through my other patreon will cost less than doing so here, as my patreon works on a per month cycle, not a per week one:
Currently $2/week (the lowest TDR tier) is a contribution of $8/month.
The comic tier on my personal patreon is $5/month and includes access to all my other comic works as well as those of hunter.
This is, of course, in addition to all the other new stuff available on that patreon already.
If you are someone who is interested in my other art and process and do join my other Patreon, I would be happy to bump you up a reward tier for the next 6 months (capped at $20 tier). IE: if you are part of the $5 tier, you will receive the monthly bundle for the $10 tier) Please just send me a PM on that account to let me know and I will mark it down for future months!
I can not thank you enough for the support you guys have shown me for the past year and a half. It has been humbling to know that what I am doing matters enough to warrant the support to do it and I will continue to work on Demon Road regardless of where I end up <3
Please remember to remove yourself from this patreon when joining the other so that you do not get double-billed this month!
Edit: For those who have asked, I will still be sending out all physical merch on my next print runs to those who have been pledging to those tiers on this account and there is no need to pledge to a higher tier on the other patreon to recieve them. I will keep my record of your contributions here for my records forever.
