Wow! So, thank you guys so much.  I've said it before, but it bears repeating: without you guys, I'd be homeless. As my health has deteriorated over the past half year or so, it's become increasingly challenging to function; you guys keep me alive, and I'll never really be able to express how grateful I am for everything you do.

But I do want to try.

For the month of February, I'm gonna be keeping my head down, making work on Game One. The hope is that our team can show it to some publishers at GDC, maybe get funded and actually get this puppy into full scale development. I have some small freelance pieces to complete as well.

After that, here's the plan:

1) I'm done stressing out about whether or not people like my videos. I owe them to you guys, so I'm getting them made. Also had a breakthrough in a script that was giving me trouble, so this should be good. I've got two or three scripts complete and ready to go.

2) I'm gonna change the rewards up. It would be helpful if ya'll could ping me either here or on twitter and let me know what you'd like to see. I've been awful at writing about games people have asked me to write about. By all means, let me know what you want me to write about, but I'm gonna try to add to the list of rewards. It's been suggested I do, like, a once-a-month Skype video session with people backing above a certain tier, so I was gonna look into that. Maybe have some kind of "game night with Doc" thing as well. When Game One hits testing phase, I'm planning on hooking everyone who's subscribing at the time with codes, so you can get an early look at the game. Any other suggestions? Ping me.

3) Streams. I know most folks don't watch them, but I'll try to do them weekly, so there's always content.

4) One piece of content a week aside from streams. This is gonna be hard, but starting in March, that's the plan.

Thanks to you guys, I'm able to pay most of my bills every month. The next two months are crazy stressful, because my car insurance comes due, and I finally managed to sign up for Obamacare, but it's an added expense of $50 or so a month. Rent's up to $590 now. Bills are another $300 on top of that. Food Stamps are $125, which isn't enough to live on (that's two weeks worth of groceries if I eat really poorly), so any time I have 'extra' money, that's what I'm buying. Aaaand now I'm gonna have to start paying off a school loan.

As of right now, there will be no new game purchases in 2017. I have one game preordered and paid off (Halo Wars 2). I am gonna try to get Prey at some point, and I'd like to get some other stuff, but it's just not in the cards right now. Freelancing may provide some small amount of game-buying money, but that money is gonna go, first, to my school loan (the one that isn't on an income-based repayment plan), then to the credit cards I've maxed out for having so little income. That's about... $10,000 worth of debt I need to clear before I can justify buying games again. If I get anything now, it's gonna be thanks to my Steam wallet (selling trading cards has me up at $6 right now!), gifts from friends, or things like Bing Rewards. I really want The Last Guardian. It's $32 from Best Buy right now. Great deal. Not gonna get it.

So.

That's 2017 for now. Lots more games writing, some game development, better/more interesting reward tiers.

As always, if you want or need anything from me, get in touch! You can send me a message directly, or tweet me, or whatever else.
