Jimmy Miracle

After a couple fun weeks celebrating the release of our two compilation albums (Way to go patrons! You did it! We reached our first goal!), we are excited to get back to premiering new works. This week proudly welcome visual artist Jimmy Miracle to Spark and Echo Arts. He created not one, not two, not three, (not five, not six), but FOUR works for the project in response to 1 Corinthians 14:2:

For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.

Enjoy his works and be sure to also note his fine artist statement, excerpted below.

From Jimmy:

Perhaps these 4 paintings appear to scarcely relate to the verse above but let me explain what went on inside me, the artist, as I contemplated this verse and created these works.  Because I believe our world to be imbued with God’s glory in every place, I look around my everyday experience and am delighted to witness this glory as it manifests itself through large spots of colors harmoniously revealed.  As I looked at this parking lot, staring at the side of a van on a cloudy day; while I observed the blaze of sunlight as it blasted behind the bleachers of a soccer stadium; when I walked behind my apartment at sunrise and caught a beautiful purple and orange radiation; and while I stared at my kitchen at dusk, I was reminded at how this glory shows up everywhere, how common and ‘ordinary’ is God’s glory...

Thank you for your support, patrons!
