And second, there are some Patreon changes in store! Namely: I'm capping the amount of words I write a month.
has been a huge boon for me, work-wise. When I started it up at the
very end of 2014, I had no idea whether it would work or replace my old
writeathon system. I certainly had no idea how much money it would be
making, so I stuck to my old rule of three cents a word. I am thrilled
to say that you fine folks who have supported me through Patreon have
exceeded my expectations.
Now, however, I'm having to acknowledge
my limits as a human being. Not only am I posting 3000 words worth of
stories a month, I'm also uploading roughly four drawings, four pages of
comics a month, plus my postcards for my big Patreon spenders, plus
handling Etsy orders and my con schedule and a weekly livestream. I
just physically can not do much more than I'm doing.
So I think
it's time to accept that this is my maximum capacity, at least for now.
Sorry guys! 3000 words will be the max I post from here on out.
that in mind, I'm also considering raising my prices once again. At
five cents a word, I would be making a professional rate. Like before,
all stories previously priced would keep their old prices; this would be
just for future stories. I'm not in a rush over this, but it's
definitely my endgame goal.
What do you guys think? How does this sound?
