In the ceramics studio where plaster moldmaking is taught and used, there's usually that one person doing experiments with the casting slip. If some material is absorbent, someone has dipped it in slip to burn it out. If it's flexible, someone has tried to capture the form with clay slabs.

Hi there-- In my continuing exploration of ceramic design and interesting processes, I've presented some information on a recent forming experiment that I'm really excited about. Paper shapes help liquid clay slip form into a cup-- but wait! things went a little haywire, and I managed something even cooler.
