It’s the green month…
I gotta be honest with you (or, at least, I’m going to be honest with you), March can be a little dreary. It’s that place between winter and summer that usually seems a little too muddy and a little too grey.
In my yard, I brighten up March by planting crocus and chives — things that come up the moment they have a chance of surviving. And then daffodils and lilies and irises as the mud — I mean spring — goes on. It fills my yard with color, especially green color, and makes everything seem alive and cheerful. Then I go inside and plant some seeds, and then I have a little more life going on.
In my writing, well, I guess I should bring some spring blooms as well. I’ve loaded the with themes that look fun to write this month, so if you haven’t voted yet, go k. No Dreamwidth account? Vote in the comments here or there.
February sort of got devoured, but I’m still working on the stories, and they’ll get posted as I finish them. I blame lettermo (see, I should’ve just mailed you all stories, then they might’ve gotten written…), but the stories are coming! You all gave me some fun prompts, and it’s been an interesting challenge working the seminal writers into my works.
Let’s see, what else?
There’s a poll open regarding the current serial. So far, one person has voted, which gives “keep the serial going as-is” a clear if unresounding win. I’ll keep it open for another week or two — please take the time to vote or leave a comment.
We’re $19 from the next milestone, which is…. More fic! (dun-dun-DUNNN). At that point, Alder’s Grove will start to look like a real mini-fic-’zine. (with columns! Recipes and illustrations and a comics page and… okay, I just made the comics page up, I can’t draw at all, but it would be kind of fun.
Thank you for reading; thank you for being my Patrons. Stay tuned for more fic, and go vote in some polls!
