John LaMacchia guitarist of the reactivated Cadiria guests this week on the podcast, and we dive deep into where he is coming from on their new record. In our interview we talk about the his creative output, the many projects he has masterminded, the thought of going back on tour and what that means for his lifestyle, the dark nature of some of the music he creates and how 9/11 took its toll on him starting him down a path that led to addiction and the darkness he has dwelling with in him, how he deals with it and what the future might bring after such a dark time in his life.
We also talk about the disappointing sales figures for Avenged Sevenfold, selling less than half the first week of The Stage being released than their last record. The stunt of announcing and releasing the record the next day may have possibly backfired, do stunts and tricks work in your favor? Or is it counterintuitive to fake out your hardcore audience and not tell them that you are working on new material? Does anyone really care?
