A fragile soap bubble, and yet it contains the whole world surrounding it. I captured this image in 2019 when I attended a friend’s wedding.

As most mirrors this bubble shows an inverse image of that which it reflects, providing us with a different perspective of the world. The image is distorted and misshapen and the colour is off, and yet it represents the world it sees.

Often when we interact with other humans and perhaps they bring out an emotion in us, we say “you made me angry, you made me sad, etc” and yet that is not the case, the feelings you are experiencing are bounced of the other person and reflected within us. It is not the other human being doing it to us, it is the things we observe about them that mirror our own internal world; and just like light bounces off objects so the emotion we feel is reflected within. Whenever we react to someone or something, it is actually a reflection of us in them that we illicit a reaction to. So I guess what I am trying to get to here is that the next time you have an over reaction to something or someone; take a glance at what are you seeing in the other that perhaps is what you disagree with within.

The reflection of information is often difficult to see without enhancing your inner reflection of self. Just like I did for my image; in order to highlight the reflection in the bubble; I had to adjust the sharpness of the image, otherwise it would have been a more washed out example, which was how it was captured by the camera.

What things about you, do you have to sharpen up? What is it about you that you have noticed, that continuously brings up the same response? Have you taken the time to adjust the luminosity, the sharpness of the image, have you used the resolution setting yet?
