Two down, 23 to go.
The #23 player in the MWC Wire Basketball Countdown this season is Boise State sophomore guard Justinian Jessup.
Jessup averaged 7.4 points per game as a freshman, the highest average since Mikey Thompson had 7.9 points a night back in 2013. The Colorado native also started 31 games and had multiple three-pointers in 14 of his appearances.
Jessup is a legitimate perimeter threat from the wing, where he knocked down 50 of his 141 three-point attempts last year. With James Reid and Nick Duncan (135 combined three-pointers) both having graduated, Jessup now assumes the role as the lead go-to guy from beyond the arc for the Broncos.
After a very promising freshman season, the MWC Wire staff projects Jessup's momentum to continue into his sophomore campaign. Working alongside potential Mountain West player of the year Chandler Hutchison and Valparaiso transfer Lexus Williams, Boise State will continue to share the ball and find open looks.
