Next up is the 15th-ranked player in the MWC Wire Basketball Countdown.
UNLV's Jovan Mooring is #15 on the staff's composite list.
Mooring is a senior guard for the Runnin' Rebels, and is the leading returning scorer for Marvin Menzies' group.
The JUCO transfer averaged over 26 points and six rebounds per game with South Suburban C.C. in Illinois prior to his move to the Mountain West. He finished with a slash line of 12.6/2.7/4.0 in 2016-17 with UNLV.
Mooring's role expanded as the season progressed last year. He averaged 22.9 minutes per game in November, 24.9 in December, 32.6 in January, and 36.8 in February/March. Mooring also started the final 16 games of the season for UNLV.
Because of UNLV's lack of experience and continuity, look for Menzies to lean on Mooring throughout the season. He led the team in scoring, assists, three-pointers and free-throws last year. Now that he has some help in the form of five-star center Brandon McCoy, JUCO star Shakur Juiston and Milwaukee transfer Jordan Johnson, Mooring's efficiency will likely rise in his senior season.
