My Love Affair with Food - Hop Jack's
This place is one of the best pub style eateries I've eaten at in awhile. While a burger and fries often seems the same from place to place, I have to admit that this particular place is delicious!

What makes it even better is that so far of the half a dozen times we've been there the food has been 90% consistant. It's a very good portion size, especially for the price which makes it seem a very good value. Add to that the food is amazingly delicious!

I know, I say delcious a lot, but really why share bad things about bad places when you can instead tell people all about the really awesome places they SHOULD try. The bad ones rarely even get a mention from me because really, why promote something that's bad?

I've had several dishes from Hop Jack's now and I'm quite partial to their homemade crisps (chips). They take potato, slice it super thin and then fry them. Sometimes they even make them fresh when you order them if they've run out. (They taste good either way, but they can take a little while to cook).

Their special Hop Jack's sauce is a really good dipping sauce too.  They even have the option for tater tots if that's more your style, and then of course the usuals of the salad/fries /etc.

i've had their patty melt (oh man, they're generous with the meat and the whole grain bread they use is to die for, it's seriously tasty, even if you do get an occasional hard seed like you do with most whole grain breads).

I've also had a couple of their burgers, which have the same thick meat type patties as the melt with a variety of different toppings. I'm quite partial to the blue cheese burger with the fried onion straws. (I'm making myself really hungry while I'm writing this for you by the way).

They've got a ton of different beers to try, with a rotating specials menu as well and a sweet martini called a "gummy bear martini" which we've tried to replicate at home and tastes way better in their "ice glass", which is a fun concept.

Non-alcholic needs? No problem, they've got a bunch of different lemonade flavours. My favourite by far is the grapefruit lemonade which is somehow sweet, tart, bitter, and refreshing without being unplesant (which you might think would be unplesant as a flavour profile but really isn't). They even have huckleberry lemonade which was not my personal favourite but Hubby liked quite a bit. The mango flavour wasn't too bad either and had a tropically kind of feel.

Long story short? Definitely delicious, well worth the cost, filling portion sizees and worth a visit.
