My Main Composing Trick To Prevent Writer's Block
For nearly 30 years I've used the trick of writing a word out in notes to help me have a kernel of an idea at the start of a composition. I just keep going up the alphabet, instead of repeating the musical notes A-G. So the note A also works as the letter H and the note B also works as the letter I and so forth. So "Rapido" in the above example becomes D-A-B-B-D-A. More on this in the future in my patron-only feed and my live mobile-app Patreon Live Chats.
