I know, it’s only August. But it’s not too early to start prepping for what I consider the biggest month of the year, NOVEMBER. In fact, it’s only 12 weeks away!
First, let’s cover the basics. What is National Novel Writing Month?
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.
2017 is my NINTH year attempting to complete this challenge. In that time, I’ve only managed the feat three times (2010, 2013, and 2015). I’ve found that preparation is the key to success, at least for myself, so this year I'm starting early!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be writing posts and doing vlogs on prepping for NaNo. I hope you’ll consider joining me in the challenge, it’s free to sign up!
If there’s anything that you want to know about writing a novel, and writing it fast, ask below and I’ll be sure to cover it as best I can in my NaNo Prep Series.
