Natural Gem of Yucatan, Mexico
Rivers and subterranean caves abound on Yucatan State. All is explained  by the geological structure of the peninsula, formed of karst whose  origin is limestone. As a result, erosion creates characteristic  cavities and chasms. In Yucatán, there would be more than 10 000 and a  theory explains that the impact of a meteorite in the Gulf of Mexico  would have caused their collapse. In any case, nature has done well by  offering us these freshwater jewels !
