New Art: _Plexus A1_ by Gabriel Dawe
I recently travelled to an exhibit of installation art completely filling the Renwick Gallery, in Washington, DC.  My favorite room was "decorated" by Gabriel Dawe, with thousands of strands of embroidery thread he recreated the optical equivalent of a natural rainbow, and then some.  The artwork was ephemeral and optical, with a strong stereoscopic  semi-transparency and moiré effects.  Tripods were not allowed, but I took the Sputnik anyway.  Fortunately, a sturdy chair rail in most of the rooms afforded a decent and reasonably flexible shooting platform: I exposed five or six rolls of 120 format slide film, with many of the exposures on the order of 15 seconds long (shooting aperture f/32).   Film has already returned from the processor and looks very good.
