A New Coat
A couple years back I won the inaugural short story competition hosted by the Bermudian magazine, with Trouble With The Mate. I wanted to submit again this year, but what with one thing and another I didn't finish by the deadline.

The rules are simple: the piece can be no more than 2,500 words long, and there's a theme. This year it was Blue.

I thought I'd carry on from Trouble with a new tale about rumrunner supercargo Alex Moran. An unexpected visit from the Boss causes major problems, as the crew's clamoring for wages that the Boss is not inclined to give them. Plus there's a policeman hanging round up to no good - or so Moran thinks at first.
