Wanted to do a quick catch up and let you know what's happening.
I've been freelance contracting since leaving Unity in March. This has been an incredibly interesting experience, juggling life and projects, but has ultimately been a really useful decision.
Living The Deal hasn't been moving forwards as fast as I've like it to, as I've been so busy. The game needs my full attention to keep going at a great pace, and I currently haven't had the time to keep at it.
However, I have been working on things.
I've been working on a much smaller game, which I'll be officially announcing soon and if all goes well, we'll be releasing before the end of the year.
Similarly, some of the things I've been working on have opened my eyes to problems people have been yet to solve, or at least document solutions for. So I'd really like to start better "showing my working" to some of the problems I've been solving, or systems I've been making to better help other designers or developers.
In the next few weeks, I intend to transition this Patreon slightly. Based on the current limitations with working on Living The Deal, I'd like to make it less single-game focused and make this page broader on content I can deliver more regularly.
I'll still be making updates about Living the Deal, but I'd love to be able to use Patreon and the blog as a platform to help others more.
So, along with progress updates on LTD, you can expect:
- Progress on smaller projects
- Prototype Projects
- How To Guides / Tutorials
- Design Discussions
and much more!
Essentially, by moving away from the single topic. You Patrons will ideally be getting more for your money.
I'll likely be updating the page to reflect this in the near future.
Until then, thanks for all your support.
