Seeing the work of Oswaldo Guayasamin at La Capilla del Hombre
and at his home in Quito last October was moving and inspiring. I was struck by a need to create images with a similar gravity and weight in both dark and light tones. (Above: E1. Below, closeups of E2 during the textile layer creation).
Each panel is 30” x 30” naming them simply in order of creation E1, E2, Etc. Going to keep making them until I get one I like! Jokes aside, just not sure how many I need, in one sense each canvas is like a key frame. That thought in mind, I’ll continue till the tale is told.
