Lots of things to fill you in on and show...
The first thing was my decision to participate in this year's Twitter Art Exhibit. It sounded like fun, and it only required a post-card sized piece of art, and all of the proceeds go to charity, and it is being held in Stratford this year (so I can actually go see the exhibit!) - so I figured, why not?!
I have the post card nearly finished and ready to send off, so all is good there. It did lead me to a second 'project' though: a proper website! The registration form for the TAE17 had a line for you to enter your website... So, I've started a website!
I chose a domain name, found a suitable hosting company, learned how to install and administer a WordPress Content Management System, found a nice looking theme, installed that, and I've started adding some pages. You can see what it looks like so far:
Let me know what you think!
Then, there was another 'project' that popped up... Another exhibition. Though this time it is a proper juried exhibition, but when I read the call for submissions, I immediately got a slew of ideas for a painting for it, so I've got nothing to lose by trying those ideas out (something I've started doing already) and then submitting it to see what happens. Worst case is that I got to try out lots of new ideas and I have at least one more completed painting!
Which brings me to the third 'project' I'm currently doing: the Creative Revolution e-Course . This is a new course offered by Flora Bowley (the creator of the one painting course I've taken before). It is designed specifically to give lots of new ideas for making creativity more a daily part of your life. I love Flora's courses & the creative exercises that she comes up with are really inspiring! The image at the top of this post is from one of the exercises. I've had a lot of fun playing with new mediums and techniques so far and there's still five more weeks to go!
Anyway, that's what I've been up to. Next square of the Kandisky to be started tomorrow! Thanks so much for your support!
