New Remix! - September 8th - Slay All Cyborgs
Hey, everyone. I know for all my patrons, you've already been given the opportunity to download all four songs I completed over the past week. But just in case you don't want to download the zip file, or if you're one of the folk that aren't a patron but still like to download the music, here's an easy way to grab this song. I included drums, which is turning out to be something I've been increasingly interested in. I like trying to sort out interesting beats to put behind the music. Because I am pretty new to it, I apologize if they are relatively rudimentary. I promise you in a year's time I will be much, much better. But even still, I think the beats don't detract from the song. One of the ways I determine if a part works with a song is I will write it, play the song a few times with the part, and then play the song without that part. If I miss it, it's a keeper. That philosophy came in very handy when I was working with Eric, as he would write parts that were sorta out of left field. They were amazing parts, obviously, but on very rare occasions I would have trouble wrapping my head around them. So, what I would do, is I would listen to song four or five times with the new bit, then I would mute the track and listen to it without the bit. Invariably, with Eric's stuff, I'd miss it and it would be included. With my own stuff, not so much. But shigata ga nai, neh? Anyway, I'm rambling. I'll catch you all tomorrow. Up next is Like I Need Oxygen. I've almost completed it and it's sounding pretty amazing, if I am allowed to say such a thing. Okay, cheers! Lots of love. Mike TV P.S. And Mark Twain's (Sam Clemens to his friends and most certainly a handful of longtime detractors) photo is there for no reason. Just an opportunity to fill the visual portion of this post with something that's not me. P.P.S Doh, the song I added drums to was Like I Need Oxygen. Slay All Cyborgs has always had drums. Bleh. Well, whatever, all the other info was relevant. Well, sorta relevant. I mean, relevant if you're me. Or interested in my music writing, editing, and producing process. Which, I am certain, you most probably are not. Uh...I'll stop typing now.
