Next up: a history of Chinese
The latest poll had a clear winner. I think we managed to pick the most epic of the epics up for a vote. Two simple key terms: "history", "Chinese"... yet I'm familiar enough with Chinese varieties, their history and scripts to know that I have quite a project on my hands!

This will be our first journey highlighting China since episode 5 of Thoth's Pill. I'll start in on the preliminary reading and report back to you in a week and a half.

If you're a voting patron (Free Variant and above), I'll give you a break until then, but prepare to help me make multiple decisions in December.

If by chance you've already waded into historical Chinese linguistics beyond Wikipedia, what's your favorite book or resource?
