Nights When I Am Sane
This is it, the darkest that it gets. Under cover of fog, lit by nothing but the shadow of streetlights, a murky monochromatic orange that shatters this pervasive greyness. I could hardly see the road, barely make out the lines that marked my way from here to home. My head was in the clouds, and so were my toes, every inch swirled in the strange shade of a misty midnight. I hope you'll find your way, fighting for realization in the places where nothing seems apparent.  There are times that I could really use the comfort. It's the polar opposite of my coastline wandering, where the vanishing point shrinks down to feet what used to be miles.  Stay a while, before these skybound clouds rise again and fall in rain. I'll always be under the weather, on these nights when I am sane.
