One afternoon last month, our family was dealt a sucker punch. Greg had a grand mal seizure at work. While this shouldn’t be a surprise, as he has suffered from epilepsy for most of his life, it is never is easy to digest all that results from this condition. It’s been an unexpected hurdle as we try to absorb the new restrictions that the episode entails, from no more driving for Greg, to experimenting with a possible new prescription, the trickle down has left us all in a bit of a fog.
I am so thankful that he is ok and that through it all we have each other. I am also thankful for how strong he has been through everything. It’s a privilege to walk beside him as he works through this. For the first time, he has written about his illness, how it effects his outlook, and has some encouragement for those who also may be facing a serious health condition. If you would like to read his blog about it, you can find it here: https://medium.com/@gregwhitworth/expecting-the-unexpected-bb57a8d6da61#.rmvltnb3o
Thank you for continuing to show your support as we traversed this situation last month. I know my silence must have been puzzling. <3 Thank you!
