October/November events, plus essays and interviews!
Hi Patrons, thank you for your continued support!

FYI, unfortunately I won't be able to assess this month's patron rewards until the last week of the month, as I am heading out of town to give a few college/conference talks next week (and am preparing those talks as we speak). But until then, I wanted to share a few tidbits of news:

1) first off, my upcoming events! They can be found here: http://juliaserano.com/events.html - they include two readings in San Francisco (including this week's Litcrawl), two talks in/near Columbus, OH, and one at SUNY Fredonia.

2) a couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being interviewed on the podcast We Can Talk About, which focuses on politics and framing. We talked about my recent essay Refusing to Tolerate Intolerance and related topics. The interview just went live - you can listen to it here: https://www.wecantalkaboutpodcast.com/episodes/2017/10/10/ep-15-responding-to-the-majoritywhen-theyre-wrong

3) the website Quillette recently published the latest fear-mongering article portraying transgender as a mere "social contagion." While I didn't have time to write a full rebuttal, I managed to compose a Twitter essay/thread detailing some of the (many) problems with the piece, which you can read via that link.

That's it for now, more soon!
