Dr. Snyder is a professor at Yale University and the author of the books Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin; Black Earth: The Holocaust as History and Warning, and the recent bestsellers On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century, published in 2017, and The Road to Unfreedom: Russia, Europe, America, published in 2018, both of which warned of rising autocracy in the United States and increasing Kremlin incursion into Western democracies. He was also a historical consultant on Andrea’s film, Mr. Jones, a journalistic thriller set during the time of Stalin’s genocide in Ukraine, available now on Amazon, iTunes, and other streaming services.
