This past Saturday I ran in the Tough Viking, which is a 10km tough mudder through the center of Helsinki. Basically I subjected myself to cruelty for the sake of seeing if I could. I wasn't racing to beat a particular time. It was just something I always wanted to try. And now I have. As a result I'm tired and can barely speak throughout this episode. Not the best of things for podcasts.
This is proof that just because you're a parent doesn't mean you have to give up trying to new things. Not that I would advise anyone to do like I did and participate without training beforehand. Ever since shoulder surgery last November my workout regime has been extremely limited. Where before I went six days a week, I'm lucky if I get one. Part of that is the recovery, but now it's the kid.
The plus side of a child is getting to introduce them to food. Real food. In this case peanut butter. My daughter isn't allergic to anything which means she's been eating everything. Except refined sugar. Her most common way of eating peanut butter is as a peanut butter and jelly smoothie. It only requires you blend together a banana, a small spoonful of peanut butter, some formula, and some frozen raspberry bits. The latter is to simulate the jelly without all the added sugar. And voila - PB&J smoothie!
What also hasn't helped this episode is the fact I'm playing Destiny 2. It's a distraction that's keeping me from getting the little work on my game I can done. But it's only the release week so with time that should fade. Should being the key word. Regardless you can see the vlog on Twitch or Youtube.
