For programming I will be resuming Pyverse, a space sim I'm developing in Python. It's less a game, more a general experimentation platform. Explore a procedurally generated universe of planets, starbases, and ships that broadcast signals to each other. I hope to eventually include concepts like networking, assembly language, parallel programming, and more into Pyverse.
For writing I will be studying the monomyth. The monomyth is considered to be the underlying structure behind myths, novels, and movies throughout history and cultures. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and even The Matrix are said to follow this structure. I'm going to experiment with using it in 3-5 short to medium length stories, based in different settings and characters. The hope is that I can use the monomyth to structure my writings, but also understand it well enough that I can break away from it and create unique storylines of my own.
